Foundations inspection

The foundation is an element of the machine structure which transfers the load directly or indirectly to the ground. Correct placement of the machine on the foundation reduces the amplitude of vibrations that arise during the operation of the machine. They are coming from the operation of stroke and rotary machines. They may damage foundations and affect in a bad way the work of the machine and people nearby.

A properly designed and constructed foundation has 3 main tasks:

  • Provide a stable foundation for the structure
  • Transfer all loads to the ground safely.
  • Absorb and dampen vibrations

Why control the foundations?

Today’s methods of designing machine seatings take into account static and dynamic loads both constant and variable in time, from moving parts of the machine. Despite the calculation of many factors influencing the foundation, the obtained results do not always reflect reality. Controlling the behavior of the foundation during exploitation gives us the certainty that the foundation is designed and constructed correctly.
